For many weeks now, I have been troubled by the state’s failures in supporting the residents of our long-term care facilities during the coronavirus pandemic. But what I heard last week during the House Aging and Older Adult Committee meetings is shocking and upsetting.

HARRISBURG-- State Rep. Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks) joined her colleagues in passing a package of legislation to combat human trafficking in Pennsylvania, including a companion bill to Thomas’s “Buyer Beware” bill to increase the penalties for anyone convicted of soliciting a victim of human trafficking.

Harrisburg, PA (WENY)-- In 2018, there were 275 cases of human trafficking cases reported in Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth ranks in the top ten in the country when it comes to human trafficking cases. The Pennsylvania House passed along six House Bills and one Senate Bill on Wednesday, focused on addressing what legislators are calling the human trafficking crisis.

Thomas to Host Unveiling of Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center Report on School Violence

Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks) will host a presentation by the U.S. Secret Service for local educators, law enforcement, and EMS to update community officials on the newest Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) report on targeted school violence in the United States. This will be the region’s first presentation of NTAC’s new study “Protecting America’s Schools: A U.S. Secret Service Analysis of Targeted School Violence.”
