HARRISBURG—The House Human Services Committee today passed legislation sponsored by Rep. Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks) to create a public awareness campaign to help frontline health care workers and first responders find help for the mental health challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mental Health and Our Healthcare Heroes

WHAT: Rep. Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks) will hold a hearing to learn about the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our healthcare workers and what the State can do to support them. The hearing will take testimony from healthcare workers, including physicians, nurses, and hospital administrators, as well as mental health professionals. It will also include a discussion on legislation introduced in other states to support these frontline healthcare heroes.
