Several area school districts get state safety grants

Seven school districts from Bucks or Eastern Montgomery counties, the Bucks County Intermediate Unit and Upper Bucks County Technical School in Bedminster were recently among the recipients of $40 million in school safety grants from the state.

IVYLAND – At a senior expo event Thursday morning held by Rep. Wendi Thomas (R-Richboro), Bucks County State Rep. Frank Farry (R-Langhorne) joined Thomas in announcing their soon-to-be introduced legislation to freeze property taxes for eligible homeowners, age 65 years of age or older.

Local leaders tour Bucks state parks, assess needs

An assortment of local and state officials made several stops in Bucks and Northampton counties Friday afternoon, including in the Washington Crossing Historic and Delaware Canal state parks, where they said flooding, wear and tear had strained infrastructure. Some said Gov. Tom Wolf’s “Restore Pennsylvania” initiative, which calls for investments in “green infrastructure,” is key to the fixes.
